safe secure and happy environment which is still a cornerstone for us today today our child care centers have grown to multiple sites in the gta and surrounding area we engage your child holistically focusing not only on their physical and mental health needs but also on their spirit and well-being with the implementation of the principles of elect early learning for every child today our teaching teams provide support to help your child thrive with hands-on learning daily we offer your child a beautiful balance of structure and semi-structured experiences along with learning and play that developmental stage participate in balanced programs that cover the areas of intellectual physical social and emotional growth experience activities which are at times structured to provide for this world Graydon Hall Nursery Schools provides an inclusive environment where we honor children of all backgrounds and abilities we offer a variety of programs for children from six weeks to nine years our programs include the infant program provides your child with a home away from home daily activities include sensory play and creative arts to stimulate the senses in a warm and nurturing environment many of the activities associated with this program follow your child's schedule the outdoor environment is explored through stroller walks as well as gross motor activities in our infant outdoor play space our toddler program is geared towards children from 18 months to two and a half years we encourage your child to be independent and to navigate the world around them a toddler's language skills increase at an incredible rate and so we emphasize language and communication both verbal and non-verbal toddlers build on learning through various sensory and stimulating activities music art and literacy a part of their day consists of self-exploration and teacher-guided experiences as they mature in their social development the children will move through the stages of individual play parallel play to cooperative play skills encouraged at this stage are drinking from a cup eating independently with a spoon sharing toys and turn taking music and movement are incorporated throughout the day outdoor play and other physical activities are scheduled daily to encourage your child to develop self-confidence and coordination rest and or quiet activities meals and refreshments are all part of this full day program you receive a daily report on your child's well-being and progress preschool from two and a half years to five years of age our programs start to educate your child on becoming more self-sufficient in a variety of self-help skills we focus on refining your child's fine motor skills and prepare them to enter the elementary school system preschool is the perfect time to develop a lifetime love of learning and we focus on a number of areas to stimulate your child's mind with a diverse curriculum that introduces them to a variety of learning skills your child will be engaged in actual cooperative games and experiences that include language skills nature and science mathematics the arts fine motor skills physical education our full-day program offers a complete package with a low ratio of one educator to eight children with a maximum of 24 in a class your child receives more opportunity for individual attention rest and or quiet activities meals and refreshments are all part of this full day program our school age program is designed to allow the children to have a clubhouse atmosphere in which children can participate in a variety of experiences a diverse range of activities are provided including sports arts and crafts building materials books and games a place for homework is also available if requested by parents our summer camp program offers exciting opportunities for the children during the warmer months full days are available during winter and summer breaks as well as PA days we are open from 7a.m to 6 p.m monday to friday all of our programs flow together to support your child as they move through various developmental stages this seamless transition meets your child's needs through consistency and familiarity self-confidence a sense of well-being and self-esteem all of our centers have children of varied exceptionalities who may be in the process and stages of receiving support we are very fortunate to have our own in-house special needs resource person who is able to support and work with our families and educators without a waiting list we facilitate the child to succeed in their development to the best of their abilities nutritious meals and snacks are provided throughout the day and are included in all of our programs each of our centers has its own working kitchen where all meals and snacks are prepared on-site by our in-house chefs a hot meal is provided each day for your child food allergies sensitivities or dietary restriction can be accommodated we are very excited to have partnered with Leanne Phillipson a registered nutritionist and best-selling author to upgrade our menus to more organic wholesome and holistic offerings all of our educators whether they have been with our school for many years or have just joined our team are continuously being trained on the newest innovations in the teaching field of early childhood we call it our continuing
