Graydon Hall Nursery Schools
About Us

"From the moment I walked in, I knew this wasn't any ordinary daycare. The mood and environment was indescribable; it felt like coming home. The supervisors and teachers all brought a special commitment and passion to their work that created a nurturing, creative and supportive learning environment."

More than just childcare

Graydon Hall Nursery Schools provides a stimulating and friendly atmosphere, embracing all cultures in our diverse society. Our programs are designed to provide a healthy balance between guided learning time and self-discovery. A stimulating and creative junior and senior kindergarten program prepares your preschoolers for the elementary school years.

Our Philosophy on Education

Our school was founded on the belief that every child needs to feel secure, safe and happy in an atmosphere especially created to develop that child to his/her full potential. Experience and commitment to education and professionally-delivered child care has taught us that children thrive when they are able to:

  • Play and learn with others who are at the same developmental age;
  • Participate in balanced programs that cover the areas of intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth;
  • Experience activities which are at times structured to provide for guidance and at other times unstructured to allow for free individual expression;
  • Develop a positive self-image through appropriate and challenging experiences specifically geared toward success;
  • Learn self-discipline and good work habits for future school years; and
  • Develop independence through encouragement and opportunity.

Child care services in the GTA and surrounding area More than just childcare

Bert and Mildred Willms founded Graydon Hall Nursery Schools in 1972 .Their vision was to provide quality child care in central Toronto. Originally located on the Bain Estate in Don Mills, today there are 7 Graydon Hall centres in the GTA and surrounding area.

Since the beginning, Graydon Hall focused on being a welcoming, quality child care provider that emphasized learning at every age level. Over the years, we have been active in the community and instrumental in the support and development of child care services in the GTA and surrounding area. Both Bert and Mildred were involved in the setting up of ADCO (Association of Daycare Operators of Ontario). In 1976, the Mayor of North York, Mel Lastman, officially recognized Graydon Hall Nursery Schools for its service to the community.

Graydon Hall Nursery Schools is recognized in the child care community for its long-standing expertise. We frequently host students for placements and apprenticeship programs, hold ongoing training for our staff and supervisors, and information events for parents and caregivers.
